Will the Guilty Party Please Give

      The measure of a man is how much money he makes.  If a man ever needs any financial help of any kind, if he can’t take care of himself, then he is a loser.  It matters not if he is lazy and just doesn’t want to work or he is a victim of his own bad judgment.  He cannot be judged to be of good character, and he is undeserving of pity or compassion.  He should have planned ahead for his mistakes.  He should work two or three jobs if need be.  He should be left to fend for himself even if that means he starves.  This is my father’s philosophy.  At least this is what he says.  In fact, he is actually a little kinder and gentler than his philosophy… because of guilt.

       Lack of compassion, understanding, and forgiveness is a Christian sin.
