Beavis and Butthead

There was this animated TV show called Beavis and Butthead. I remember when it first came on and some of my family and friends would say how funny it was. I watched some of it and found it very immature and crass. But I must admit that at times I find immature and crass to be funny, I just can't take a lot of it.

There is this one thing that they did that I, and many others, found funny. During the course of the show some character would say something which contained a word that Beavis or Butthead would find funny so they would repeat it. Such as, "The largest amphibian in this swamp is the Great Horny Toad." Then Beavis would say, "Heh heh heh, he said horny."

Sometimes you would have to figure out where the word came from like when a character said, "... life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Butthead says, "Heh, heh, heh, he said penis." I said, "What? Oh, haPPINESS! I get it."

A friend of mine from work just got a new job. I have known about it for a few weeks but just recently he has tendered his notice. So, people have started talking about it openly. Today he called me on the phone and my supervisor was there. My boss could hear my half of the conversation and I noticed he was paying attention so I started repeating the other half of the conversation for him.

"When do you start?" I asked. As he responded, I said out loud, "Tomorrow, wow!" "You should have planned a little vacation. You haven't had one in two years." He responded. "Oh, they needed you right away." "Where is this place?" I asked. "100 South Wacker."

My boss chuckled and said, "He said Wacker." People never cease to amaze me! What a country! Heh, heh, heh, he said....
