Enough Insults!

It is down to two Presidential candidates in the Democrat Party and they had a debate tonight (January 31, 2008).  Many thought it would be a real slugfest after what transpired during the last debate in the run-up to the South Carolina Primary.  Instead, this debate was very civilized and left me with the feeling that Hillary and Barack have both returned to talking about the issues and now reject the politics of slurs and innuendo.  I hope that continues.  They did a good job defining their differences and I think it was probably helpful for people who have not made a decision between them yet.  Anyone who had already made their mind up probably feels better about that choice.

Going into Super Tuesday it looks like Hillary has a bit of a lead though Barack has the Mo.  It might end up like one of those football games where the favorite comes out and runs up the score, only to be nearly caught by the underdog late in the fourth quarter.  It all comes down to that last play.  A season compressed into one six second play.  For Hillary and Barack it comes down to John Edwards supporters and undecided voters.  Which way will they break?  In previous contests, people that have decided late have gone to Obama and it seems to many that Edwards' people would mostly like Obama.  So, I think that Obama has a real shot and if he wins Super Tuesday, he will win the nomination.

>>>>Super Tuesday update, added on 2/9/2008:

Obama won more states but Hillary won more delegates.  The race is still tight and we have to keep watching.  So now I am not sure who will win the nomination.  I can tell you this, if you like politics, this is exciting!
