Green Zone Blown

A few days ago the Iraqi Parliament was bombed.  The Parliament is located in the safest place in Iraq, the Baghdad Green Zone.  There were conflicting reports on how many were killed, but luckily the number is small.  It seems that al Qaeda got a suicide bomber in there through at least five security checkpoints, hundreds of guards, and even bomb sniffing dogs.  Another fanatic terrorist is on his way to Allah and Paradise, and don't forget that when he gets there he can claim his many virgins.  (Call Don Imus or Howard Stern and ask him to insert a dirty joke using the f word here.)

The bomber's place will be quickly filled.  The ranks of the "evil doers" grows larger every day fueled by our continued presence in Iraq, no matter how noble or honorable our intentions.  The terrorists recruit followers faster than we can find and kill them.  Our President's policy on Iraq is making it worse.  It seems no use that more and more people in this country are realizing that, with all our money and the best Army in the world, we can't win this "war."  We can't even protect the Green Zone from the terrorists.

The Green Zone is a four square mile area of Baghdad with the highest security possible.  Iraq is over 169,000 square miles.  The Green Zone is only twenty-four hundred-thousandths of the area of Iraq and we can't make it safe.  How can anyone believe that we can make the whole country, or even just Baghdad, "safe for democracy."  Islamic religion is fundamentally opposed to true democracy anyway.  The battle over whose version of Islam should rule is going on right now and we made it possible by eliminating Saddam.  This battle has been going on for hundreds of years and that's what our courageous and dedicated troops are now being held in the middle of by a blind and deaf President.

The President is sending 25,000 more troops into Baghdad because he feels a surge will help us win.  Win what?  The hearts and minds of all Islamic People to change to our way of life?  It seems that most Iraqis don't have the guts to stand up against those who want to fight and kill each other over religious issues.  And the civil warriors believe that when they die they will be better off!  How can our Army beat that?  THEY CAN'T!  Bring them home NOW!
