All Good Things Must Come To An End

Each day at work, fifteen minutes before we open, we have our "Morning Meeting."  The Manager on Duty tells us the sales numbers from the previous day and either congratulates us on a job well done or admonishes us to improve.  If any other important information needs to be disseminated, we get it at the meeting.

I had noticed yesterday that our General Manager, the highest ranking of the management in our store, wasn't wearing the usual uniform but a nice top and slacks.  I have seen her out of uniform before but it was always when she was working on the store, setting up new displays or painting or whatever.  Then, of course, she wears work clothes.  Anyway, I didn't really think about it until this morning.

The morning meeting started when my General Manager said, " I have some bad news for all of you.  I just found out day before yesterday that our store, and over 100 of our 239 stores, is closing."  She went on to apologize for the suddenness of this and she explained that we were going to be liquidated.  The process should take between 30 and 90 days and we can work until the end.

I need a job!  Anybody need a really good Computer Technician with 17 years of experience?
