Life is a Test

I believe in God. God is great! She is all seeing and all knowing, but She does not intervene in everyday affairs. We are put here as a test to see who should eventually inhabit that prime real estate called Heaven.

A miracle is a statistical anomaly. It is not the hand of God. God does not move in mysterious ways. It is not fate. Things happen. There are no fixed rules. God is fair and just. If God saved your loved one from cancer, then why not mine? No one is perfect. Way more people are deserving of a miracle than ever get one.

It is fine to pray for strength and fairness. I pray everyday. God listens to all who beseech Her. She understands your heart. She measures your intentions and your deeds. But whatever strength you gain from faith comes from within you. God is watching... that is all.

There is no way that God killed those coal miners who died recently; tragically. It was a circumstance of life. God watches how we deal with it. Who reaches out to the families? God is watching. No way did God intend that Keanu Reeves should be rich and famous or Dan Quayle be Vice-President. I'll bet She laughs about those guys every time Saint Peter mentions them. And there is no way God lets little children suffer and die from disease... unless She is simply watching!

God does not pick sides. You cannot kill in the name of God. And you do not win because God wants you to. She showed you the worst outcome of the death penalty when Jesus Christ died on the cross and still most Christians in our country have not learned that the death penalty is wrong! God is watching.

Many rich people spend more money on shoes than most people earn in a year. Why don't they support more programs that help the poor. Most people fear terrorism and allow our government to spend hundreds of billions of dollars while thousands upon thousands die of disease, and suffer pain and neglect due to lack of health care. Our brave men and women die heroically in Iraq to defend our country in a war on terror we cannot win. Terrorism is crime. Have we ever beaten crime? It just goes on and on and on... God is watching!

Turn to your brothers and sisters; give what you can. Give anonymously. Forgive every failure and every transgression. Beg the Lord for strength. Learn what fairness really is. "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the Earth... Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy... Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called sons of God..."

Never expect compassion but be compassionate. Never expect understanding but be understanding. Never expect tolerance but be tolerant. Never expect peace but be peaceful. Never expect love but be loving. Pray for understanding, compassion, tolerance, peace, and love. Take action.

GOD IS WATCHING!
