Happy New Year

Happy New Year!

Here it is, the new year, and I haven't found anything to write about for a couple of weeks. I guess that I just haven't noticed anything interesting. I have just drifted through the last fortnight. (How 'bout that word?! It means two weeks. So I didn't have to say "a couple of weeks" again.) Life just seems to be passing me by.

I did think I had some inspiration to write about death; my death. I was thinking about the possibility of life after death. "Do you just die or do you pass on to some other plane of existence?" Heaven? What? But that is so depressing! I decided that I will continue to find comfort in my belief in God and leave it to Her. I just hope that when the time comes it is quick.

I thought about finding another wife. That lasted about 17 seconds. The answer is NO! Any person who has two failed marriages must consider the fact that they just might not be spouse material. Besides, I still think my last wife is great. I need to work up some hatred there first.

Another thing I was going to write about was something that happened at work the other day. I was doing my job, as usual, when this employee I had never met before came in the room. She looked right at me and said, "Oh, where's Ernie? I forgot he quit. He was so good!" Ignoring me, Ernie's replacement, she walked past me and up to my boss at his desk and said, "Ernie was so good. Can we get him back?"

My mouth was agape. This person, whom I had never met, had dismissed me without a thought to my feelings. I said, "That was not a very nice thing to say. You don't even know me." Her answer was, "I say what I feel." I responded, "Then I will too. Please leave." But I decided not to write about that. It was too upsetting. It still bothers me two weeks later. Maybe that's why I haven't been able to write.

New Year's Day was just another day. Wasn't it? Oh well, I hope you have a great year! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
