From A Galaxy Far Far Away

One thing I find really cool about life is that we are all star stuff.  The current theory of the Big Bang says that basically there was a little tiny something that blew up and all matter came from that.  So all the atoms that everything is made of may be billions of years old.

A piece of space debris has found its way across the vast stretches of space becoming trapped by the gravitational pull of Earth.  On a cold Winter night somewhere in Kansas a shooting star streaks across the sky.  A little piece of it survives the trip landing in a snow drift in the middle of a field.

In the spring as the snow melts some of the rock dissolves into the soil.  Along comes a farmer driving a tractor planting wheat.  As the plants grow they absorb some of the atoms from the meteorite.  The wheat grows and in the fall it is harvested.  The miller buys the wheat and turns it into flour.  The baker turns the flour into bread.  You buy the bread and eat it.  The atom that came from outer space becomes a part of you.

That is so cool!  You ARE star stuff!
