Inclusionism

The Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave a speech once and every time I see even a short clip of it, tears well in my eyes.  He talked about a dream.  I carry that dream in my heart everywhere I go.  He was influenced by Jesus Christ and a small man with huge ideals named Gandhi.  These three people are my heroes and divine inspiration.

The world would be best if the ideals of my heroes were followed.  Unfortunately, many leaders have found that they can derive power from pointing out how much better their constituency is than another,  These leaders seek to exclude those who do not believe as they do.  They go to the extreme in many cases of advocating the death of anyone in disagreement or the damnation of them.  Some of them even promote and perpetuate violence and murder to further their cause.

A just society must embrace different people and different beliefs.  It must include as many as possible under the loosest possible definition for an individual to be included.  Those who should be excluded should be limited to those who are destructive to the group.  Anyone who intentionally hurts others or causes suffering of any kind should be excluded.  Anyone who does not wish to respect an individuals right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness needs to be separated from the rest of us.

I believe in freedom and the right of every person to live as he wishes without government interference.  I want to live in a place where a man is judged by the content of his character, his respect for other people and their beliefs, regardless of their race, color, or creed.  I want to find reasons to include as many people in my circle of friends as possible.  I want my government to make laws that take into account the feelings and beliefs of all these people.  Laws made with limited vision and narrow moral definitions are a danger to liberty!
