Republicrat or Demican?

Republican/Conservative or Democrat/Liberal?  We need a new party.  Maybe we need more parties.  Why?  Neither party or group supports all of what their voters believe.  I guess that's why they call it "choosing the lesser of two evils."

Example 1:  A vast majority of people support the death penalty.  Many of these people vote Democrat when it is considered to be a Republican dominated issue.

Example 2:  A vast majority of people support a woman's right to choose.  Many of these people vote Republican when it is considered a Democrat dominated issue.

It seems that at this point in time Republicans are better at negatively labeling people.  Such as, people who support a woman's right to choose are "Pro-Abortion."  This is unfair.  Most people who believe in a woman's right to choose find abortion distasteful and cruel.  They just believe in each person's right to decide for themselves.  That is not "Pro-Abortion."  It is "Pro-Choice."

The Democrat/Liberals should call the Republicans/Conservatives "Pro-Death" for their support of the death penalty.  Difference: the Republicans are never afraid to fight dirty.  Maybe Democrat/Liberals compassion get in the way of them putting up a good fight.

I am confused by the idea of a person who believes in the Bible and Jesus Christ believing that killing a person, even a murderer, is okay, even good.  The bad person is captured, trapped, and can never harm anyone again.  The only real good his death can do is to make vengeful people feel a little better.  Isn't vengeance the purview of the Lord?

I am also confused by people who think they can TELL other people what they should think or believe.  I think abortion can only be decided by the person in whom the pregnancy will grow into a child.  Though I may feel that it is wrong and I would counsel a friend against it, I would never FORCE my feelings on them.

I was raised by parents who believed in this country and FREEDOM!  They believed that kicking people who are down is wrong.  When did it become okay for one group to force its beliefs on others?  We should be led by those who have the courage to include minority opinions and wherever possible make laws that recognize their feelings and beliefs.

Well, there are a lot of things I haven't figured out yet.  But I'm working on it.
